Synopsis
Kaali (Chiranjeevi) is a small town goon who helps his neighbourhood with his earning. He is good at heart and is loved by everyone in town. He works for Kotayya (Kota Srinivasa Rao) whose rival is Gollapudi. Once, when he goes to warn Gollapudi, he meets and falls in love with Radha (Radha), Gollapudi's daughter. When they decide to marry even without Gollapudi's consent, he gets Kaali killed in an accident and Kaali goes to hell.Acteurs

Satyam (N.T. Rama Rao) is a youth leader and Panchayati Board President. He interferes with the ex-President of the board, Rudrayya (Rao Gopala Rao) from executing his corrupt practices. Satyam and Rudrayya's daughter, Savithri (Jayapradha) are in love and plan to get married. So Rudrayya gets Satyam killed with the help of a professional killer (Prabhakar Reddy). Satyam immediately goes to heaven. He angers the King of Heaven, Indra (Kanta Rao) while he enjoys the dance by Rambha, Urvasi and Menaka. He sends him straight to hell headed by Yama (Satyanarayana) and ably assisted by Chitragupta (Allu Ramalingaiah). In hell, he influences the soldiers of death, Yama's army using communist theories and rights of labor, and turns them against their leader-Yama, and Hell shuts down. Yama sends him back to Earth. Yama and Chitragupta visits Earth on a holiday trip and experiences the funny aspects of Humans. Satyam changes his name and teaches Rudrayya a lesson.

The plot of the film is based on the concept of Reincarnation and a beautiful love story. Newly married couple Gopinath (Akkineni) and Radha (Savitri) are on Honeymoon and traveling in a boat in River Godavari. Gopinath cries to the boatman to stop the boat as there were dangerous Whirlpools ahead. On reaching the shores, Gopinath takes Radha to an old building. The boatman tells them that it belonged to a Zamindar and takes them to the Samadhis, which reportedly belong to that of one Gopi and Radha. They, then, find an old lady lighting deepam at the Samadhis. Gopinath recognises that she is none other than Gowri from his earlier birth. Gowri too recognised him as Gopi and breaths her last in his hands. The main story is narrated as flashback by Gopinath to Radha.
