The zombies capture Josephine and her husband, but she escapes. After a series of adventures throughout the city, she returns to rescue her husband. She discovers he is held by The Dr., who claims to control the zombies. Josephine fights The Dr. and defeats him.

Documentary filmmaker Darren convinces his friend Anthony to travel with him back to his hometown in Georgia and make a film about Darren's brother, Rusty, a flower deliveryman. With the help of the blind voice actor Mr. Emerson, they follow the reluctant subject throughout his delivery schedule despite his objections. While filming, a zombie outbreak occurs, and Rusty insists that they continue the documentary. Annoyed with the disruption from zombies, Rusty attempts to shoot around them and maintain his creative vision, which does not allow for zombies in his artistic documentary.

Enceinte et effrayée, Anais n'est pas autorisée à quitter l'hôpital spécialisé, où son mari Peter effectue un stage en médecine avec son oncle, le Dr Gabriel Schreklich. A southern town is simultaneously attacked by a UFO and zombies (a reference to Plan 9 from Outer Space, although it is unclear whether or not the two are related or coincidental in this film). A government agent (played by John Walker) parachutes in to investigate reports of UFO sightings. Upon arriving, he finds zombies springing from the graveyard. He is killed by one of them (this zombie virus is contagious, spread by biting). From here, the movie splits into four main stories.

When their originally planned outing is cancelled, four friends go on a hunting trip in Texas. They include Craig, a straitlaced man; Jerry, a mysterious relative of Craig's from New York; Tom, a nerd; and Lance, a hedonist. When they arrive, they discover that a chupacabra has bitten their guide Clyde, and, unknown to all, he has begun to slowly turn into a zombie. As Clyde shows the friends their cabin, Lance and Candy, Clyde's daughter, make out in the next room. Clyde warns them not to cross onto the property of Billy Ray, a local gangster, and, discovering Lance and Candy, angrily leaves with his daughter. Later that night, Craig reveals that he intends to marry his girlfriend, and Lance behaves strangely; Jerry tells Craig that Lance and Craig's girlfriend have been having an affair, but Craig refuses to believe it.

Ana Maria, a battered wife, seeks help from a local spiritualist, Roque. Impressed with Roque's community service and advocacy for women, a filmmaker, Pilar Franco, offers to make a documentary about him. Roque, however, is a fake and can offer Ana Maria little help beyond advice to leave her abusive relationship; Pilar is disgusted and denounces him as a con man. In desperation, Ana Maria turns to Luna, a voodoo priestess, who warns her that her husband, Antonio, will be changed by the dark magic. To Ana Maria's surprise, Antonio is transformed into a mindless slave. Unsure what to do, Ana Maria returns to Roque and seeks his help once again. Roque and Pilar team up to help Ana Maria discover what happened to Antonio. Together, they learn that Luna is creating slave labor out of the immigrant community now that her supply of illegal immigrants has dried up. These zombies are put to work on Luna's farm and mindlessly follow her orders, including the murder of her enemies. A mix of Haitian voodoo and undead ghoul, the zombies are nearly impossible to destroy. Eventually, a botched spell destroys the zombies and Luna is killed. Roque and Pilar, who have come to respect each other, decide to work together to help the community.

After spores cause the dead to rise as zombies, the undead become a natural and accepted part of society. Michael, qui a récemment rompu avec Gabi, se rend chez elle à Berlin pour lui rendre ses clés et dans l'espoir de sauver leur relation. Il y trouve deux plombiers qui ne savent pas où elle est.
