Donna Corcoran, (born September 29, 1942) is a former child actress who appeared in several Hollywood films of the early 1950s. She most notably appeared in two aquatic musicals that featured Esther Williams (playing swimmer Annette Kellerman as a child in one of them), and as a vulnerable girl being victimized by an emotionally disturbed babysitter (played by Marilyn Monroe) in a more serious drama, "Don't Bother to Knock".
After making her last film in 1955, she made a token comeback as a young adult in an episode of the long-running television sit-com My Three Sons (starring Fred MacMurray) in the early 1960s before finally leaving acting altogether.
Corcoran was born in Quincy, Massachusetts, to William "Bill" Corcoran, Sr. (1905–1958) and the former Kathleen McKenney (1917–1972). Several of her siblings were also child stars, including younger sister Noreen Corcoran, who played Kelly Gregg on John Forsythe's Bachelor Father (CBS, NBC, and ABC). Two younger brothers also went into acting: Kevin Anthony Corcoran, a star of various Walt Disney films and later a director and producer, and Kelly Corcoran (1958–2002), as a child star, appeared in the Barry Sullivan western series The Road West (1966–1968). Another brother, Brian Corcoran, also worked in television as a youth.

En 1757, un petit garçon, John Mohune, arrive dans le petit village de Moonfleet, repaire de contrebandiers, à la recherche d'un certain Jeremy Fox, qu'il sait avoir été un ami de sa mère défunte, Olivia Mohune, et vers qui celle-ci l'a envoyé. Jeremy Fox se trouve alors être un aristocrate véreux, sans scrupules, chef des contrebandiers et nouveau propriétaire du domaine des parents de John, les Mohune. Il tente tout d'abord de se débarrasser du petit John mais s'intéresse finalement à lui alors que celui-ci peut l'aider à retrouver le diamant disparu de son aïeul, dit « Barberousse ». Une fois le diamant en sa possession, Jeremy Fox abandonne John mais se ravise à la dernière minute. L'amour pour un enfant fait bien des miracles.

Katie Higgins (Williams) is the wholesome daughter of a dairy farmer. The entire family (Pa, Ma, Suzie, Katie, and Junior) start the day with a brisk song and morning swim. One day, Katie meets travelling salesman Windy Weebe (Carson) who is instantly smitten. Weebe sells an elixir that purports to turn the user into a peppy, fit-as-a-fiddle specimen, and upon noticing the entire family's strength in the water, suggests that they all attempt to swim the English Channel. The family and Weebe head off to England whereupon they learn that the distance to be conquered is 20 miles "as the seagull flies" but with the currents, can be up to 42 miles. Katie is the only one in the family strong enough to attempt this feat, so she begins training with Weebe as her coach.

200px Catholic girl Patsy (Donna Corcoran) lives in an orphanage in Quebec. After the orphanage burns down due to Patsy's accidentally knocking over a lamp, she finds a new home with the McChesney couple, who live in Protestant Ottawa. While Victoria McChesney (Greer Garson) is excited about the new family member, Patrick McChesney (Walter Pidgeon) reacts reluctantly as he was uninformed of the adoption, and is also a candidate for the Parliament in Ottawa. After Victoria overcomes a case of mycetism caused by Patsy collecting poisonous mushrooms, Patsy is suspected of causing the flame cleaning of the local school. The examination of the case finds no concrete evidence against Patsy. McChesney declares to give up his candidature in order to accept Patsy as his daughter. Patsy, however, flees. In the meantime, her innocence is proven. Patsy is found again and accepted in the McChesney home as their daughter.
