Mili Chakravarty (Sonam Kapoor) est une kinésithérapeute talentueuse et délurée qui a déjà soigné de grands joueurs de cricket. Un collègue lui propose de s’occuper d’un roi du Rajasthan et de s’installer pendant toute la durée du traitement dans son palais à Sambhalgarh. Le roi Shekhar Rathore n’est pourtant pas un patient facile : peu investi dans sa guérison, il a déjà renvoyé des dizaines de kinés avant elle. D’autre part, sa famille dirigée par la reine Nirmala (Ratna Pathak), rigide et conservatrice, a un mode de vie très éloigné de l’exubérante et franche Mili. Pourtant, la jeune femme accepte l’offre à la grande joie de sa mère (Kirron Kher) qui la verrait bien mariée à un prince. Et justement, le roi Shekhar a un fils, le beau mais distant Prince Vikram (Fawad Afzal Khan) qui est déjà fiancé à une autre et obsédé par la gestion des affaires de sa famille. A priori, rien n’incite Mili à rester dans cet environnement qui lui correspond si peu mais armée d’une détermination et d’une énergie sans faille, elle est bien décidée à venir à bout des résistances de son patient… tout en gagnant l’amitié de son fils dont elle se rapproche doucement.

The story follows Pritam (Mithun Chakraborty), an elderly bus driver. Gopal & Laxman's partner Daboo (Kareena Kapoor)on whom Gopal has a crush, but never shows it. Three robbers – Puppy (Johny Lever), Dagga (Sanjai Mishra) and Teja (Vrajesh Hirjee) — rob the queen's necklace and are on the run from police and end up in Goa. Puppy,the don, who suffers from short-term memory, hides the necklace in Pritam's house. Soon enough, Pritam's sons open a water sports shack opposite Geeta's sons' stall, and a rivalry begins. Filled with mayhem, both the groups try to take down each other's business but fail hilariously. In response to this, Pritam goes to meet Geeta, (although he doesn't know that they are Geeta's sons) to sort this rivalry out, and it turns out that Pritam & Geeta were college-lovers. Daboo overhears their love story, and decides to get the two married, without their sons' permissions. After the marriage, the two families start living in one house, filled with non-stop laughs & mayhem.It is also revealed to the five sons that they are not Pritam & Geeta's sons,but orphans after overheard by Lucky, although they vow not to tell them that they know that they are orphans and, to hide that, they become friendly like brothers.They also open a big shop of toys aided by Vasooli bhai (another not-so-don don)and Puppy for money. Puppy eventually remembers where he hid the necklace, and turns himself in along with his goons Dagga and Teja.

Police Inspector Ghote lives a middle-class life in Bombay along with his wife, Pratima. He has been employed with the Bombay Police for many years. For years an aging Rukmini Bai (Shabana Azmi) has been the Madame of a brothel in Hyderabad, India. One day she gets the news that she now has a new landlord in Mr. Gupta (Kulbhushan Kharbanda), whose daughter is to marry the mayor's son Sushil, shortly. Led by City Councillor, Shantidevi, the people in this town demand that this brothel be moved elsewhere, preferably on the outskirts of the town, and they do succeed, compelling Rukmini to move with her women to their new location, which happens to be near the Dargah of Baba Karak Shah. Ironically, this attracts a lot of people, and the patronage to Rukmini's bordello increases. Then complications set in when Sushil refuses to marry his father's choice, childlike Malti, and wants to marry Zeenat (Smita Patil) - a prostitute, not entirely by choice and seeking for a better existence, who resides with Rukmini.
