Siddharth: The Prisoner (2009)

Just released from prison, Siddharth Roy (Rajat Kapoor), a once famous writer, completes a new manuscript. He re-engages with the outside world, hoping that the new book will restore his reputation and also reconcile him with his estranged wife, Maya. Fate has other plans for Roy, when his briefcase gets exchanged at a cyber café with a similar briefcase containing a large sum of money. Roy loses the only copy of his new manuscript, while Mohan (Sachin Nayak), the cyber café manager, comes under pressure from mob bosses to recover the lost money. In the midst of growing despair about the lost manuscript, Roy is reconciled with his three-year-old son through a scheming housemaid. Unable to find happiness in the money he has found Roy begins to desire the custody of his son. Meanwhile the pressure mounts on Mohan as he loses his job and is forced to go into hiding from the mob. He must find Roy and money at any cost. Based on the ancient text of the Rig Veda, the film explores the theme of renunciation (of desire) as the true path to enlightenment and freedom.

The story revolves around an ex-Special Protection Group Commando Amaan Malik, whose wife and daughter are killed in a Jihad inspired terrorist attack. Indian Agents working with the RAW of India, approach Amaan to collaborate with him to hunt the mastermind Sultan responsible for these serial attacks in Mumbai. Sultan, is executing another mission of serial blasts including a Government Hospital in Mumbai. Supported with Intelligence Bureau (India), how Amaan is able to infiltrate the underworld gangs to reach Sultan, the Chief Mentor forms the rest of the plot.

Environ de Chittagong (Bengale, Inde) 1930. Des adolescents se font confisquer leur terrain de football par les colons britanniques qui veulent y installer un camp militaire. Humiliés par l'injustice qui leur est faite, ils décident de rejoindre des activistes indépendantistes menés par un instituteur, Masterda. Ensemble, ils attaquent un poste militaire, volent des armes, saccagent les installations télégraphiques et perturbent le trafic ferroviaire. Le petit groupe, qui compte aussi quelques femmes, réussit d'abord à se réfugier dans la campagne. Mais progressivement l'étau de l'armée anglaise se resserre et les jeunes révoltés sont abattus, faits prisonniers ou se suicident les uns après les autres. Masterda est capturé, sauvagement torturé, condamné à mort et pendu.

Kishen (Akshay Kumar) est marié à Mala (Aishwarya Rai). Ils ont un fils appelé Bunty (Aditya Roy Kapoor). Bunty refuse l'idée même du mariage, car le mariage de ses parents est un désastre : ils passent leur temps à se disputer. Tanya, sa petite amie, le présente à son grand-père, un scientifique qui travaille sur une machine à remonter le temps. Quand il rentre chez lui, ses parents se disputent encore, mais cette fois sa mère demande le divorce. Bunty, refusant cette idée, se rend dans le laboratoire de son nouvel ami, et utilise la machine à remonter le temps. Il arrive à l'époque où ses parents n'étaient pas encore mariés, et décident de faire en sorte qu'ils tombent amoureux l'un de l'autre. Ce qui ne va pas être facile, car il se rend compte que son père est « vieux jeu » et qu'il a peur de son ombre. Quant à Mala, elle est magnifique et terrorise Kishen. Il va falloir beaucoup de patience pour arriver au but ultime.

Vijay Harshwardhan Malik (Amitabh Bachchan), the ethical CEO of struggling television channel India 24/7, is losing the ratings battle with a rival channel headed by Amrish Kakkar (Mohnish Behl). Malik's son Jai (Sudeep) makes a deal with a wealthy and corrupt politician, Mohan Pandey (Paresh Rawal), to frame the Prime Minister (K K Raina) for being complicit in a terror attack. Pandey can then take over the position and Jai will have enough money to start his own channel. Jai's brother-in-law (Rajat Kapoor) supports Mohan Pandey because he wants to become the biggest industrialist in the country and Pandey could help him by framing such policies. Jai shoots a short video featuring his friend Khanna and a close friend of the PM. This meeting is staged and the PM's friend, under duress, says that the PM was involved in plotting a bomb blast so as to create fear and panic among the people so that he could get a bill passed. Jai convinces his father that the story is true and believing it to be so, Malik airs it on his network. The scandal rocks the nation and elections are held in which Mohan Pandey wins. He becomes the PM. However, one of Malik's reporters, Purab (Ritesh Deshmukh), discovers the plot. He initially approaches Amrish Kakkar with a request to air his findings on the news. Amrish, though, cuts a deal with Mohan Pandey and does not air the CD. Purab then tells his boss of his findings on the day his son is getting engaged. Malik goes on air one final time and confesses the wrongdoings of his son, son-in-law and exposes Mohan Pandey. Unable to bear the guilt, Jai commits suicide. Mohan Pandey denies his role in the scandal. Malik steps down as the CEO of the news channel and hands over the baton to the reporter who exposed the truth.
