Poochoodava (Tamil: பூச்சூடவா) is a Tamil language romantic film directed by Udhaya Shankar released in 1997. The film stars Abbas, Simran Bagga, Manivannan, Nagesh, Kalpana, Jai Ganesh, Chinni Jayanth, PC Ramakrishnan and Kavitha. The film was dubbed in Telugu as Pelli Kala Vachinde Bala.
Synopsis
The story is very simple and a usual typical Indian love story. It was Abbas' and Simran's second project where there acting together after a Telegu movie, Priya O Priya. Abbas (as Kannan) play the role of a rebellious college student in this movie. While, Simran (as Nandhini) acts as his love lady. The first half of the movie is about how Abbas and Simran have their pet fights and then the second half of the movie is about how they both join hands together to fight against her parents' opposition.Acteurs

Surya (Ajith) has been brought up in the army barracks in Ooty, ever since his mother(Sukanya) handed him over as a baby to a brigadier (Nasser). She tells the officer the reason for her action but the audience is not allowed to hear it at this point. Surya grows up to be a patriotic youth and the best soldier in his class. He falls in love with Indu (Simran), the daughter of an army officer. Indu's parents accept her choice of husband but soon after, her father dies in a bomb blast while her mother loses her life on seeing her husband's body. Kutty (Vijay) wants to become a singer while working as a local cable provider run by Mani (Manivannan). His songs are appreciated by a college student Rukmani (Simran) and each time when she wishes to meet him, circumstances project him as a transitive element. He also becomes the cause for Rukmani losing her eyesight and repents for it. He starts to love her and he regularly writes to his mother about the development of love he has for Rukmani. When his mother dies (there is a beautiful emotional scene in toilet, which is a never-seen-before kind of thing), she offers her eyes to Rukmani. To meet the cost of the eye transplant, kutty offers his kidney to a Pune-based rich man. While returning home he inadvertently becomes an accomplice in creating explosives and he's arrested. Having regained her vision, Rukmani, who had studied for IAS, becomes a Collector and when Kutty tries to contact her, he is still the rowdy element in her mind. Finally the confusion is cleared after "Innisai Paadivarum" is played and they become lovers at the end as always.

Tirupathi (Mammootty) is the eldest of four brothers and the head of a respected family in the village. The movie opens in an engineering college in Ooty with a narration of the characters. Rajiv Samuel (Abbas) is a computer engineering student and is one of the top students in the college, whereas Rajesh (R. Madhavan) is a mechanical engineering student who is the bad guy of the college. A mutual problem between the two groups led by both Samuel and Rajesh puts both Sam and Rajesh at loggerheads and they pull pranks on each other to get the other in trouble. It culminates into a fist fight but is soon broken up their friends. In the fight, Rajesh punches Sam in the face, which is against the rule, and Sam promises to return the favor in future. They graduate from the college soon and promise to not see each other ever again. Sam goes abroad for job, while Rajesh stays back in India saying that he does not want to leave his motherland.
