Kunthapura (Malayalam:കുന്താപുര; English: Kunthapura) is a 2012 Bi-lingual Indian period drama film written and directed by Joe Eshwar. National Award winning actor Charu Hassan, State Award winning actor Anu Hassan, Malayalam actors Biyon and Priya Lal, star with British actors Suzanne Roche Victor Ptak and Lawrence Larkin in the lead roles.
Synopsis
Structured on the point of view of three individuals, Krishnappa Narasimha Shashtri, an old Indian freedom fighter, Gowri Iyer, an Indian journalist and Emma Hall, a British banker. The film is set in the 1920s of colonial India and revolves around the lives of three groups of people, the peasants from a village called 'Kunthapura', the freedom fighters of the princely state of Mysore and a group of archeologists commissioned to do an excavation in the village of Kunthapura. The film shot in India and England is due for release in 2013.Acteurs

The film begins with Vizag being shown in 1980 in which a ladies college bus makes its scheduled bus stop. Krishna (Ram), standing at the bus stop, keeps looking at Srinidhi (Tamannaah), whom he loves, but doesn't express it. He has been doing that for the last three years but without any response from her. Srinidhi also likes Krishna, but does not reveal it, as she fears by doing so, she may put her family in trouble. On the last day of the college, Krishna decides to propose to her. So he disguises himself in a 'burqa' and boards the bus. However, the bus conductor recognises him and forces the bus driver to stop the bus. However, before he could stop it, the bus gets involved in an accident. Krishna saves Srinidhi from the mishap, but is killed in the process. Shocked about Krishna's death, Srinidhi dies at the grave of Krishna.

The film shows how terrorist outfits use money to lure unemployed youth to do their bidding. A mentally challenged young woman wanders on the city streets creating a lot of commotion. Many people, including policemen, take advantage of her. A report on her miserable plight is aired on television. Following this, Aboobacker (Sphadikam George), a rich businessman, seeks out the young woman and gets her admitted to a hospital. Aboobacker is certain that the young woman is Raziya (Meghna).

Capri has a bad past . she was married and got pregnant but lost her husband and unborn child in an accident.She becomes mentally sick and in the future she owes to keep Rajesh with her forever.She follows Rajesh and finds his new house . Rajesh and family leave for a party to Vinodh 's house .Capri kills the rabbit in Rajesh's house and places it in a pressure cooker. He tells his wife about the affair. Preethi calls Capri and warns her not to disturb her family. The next day their daughter goes missing. Capri takes Abi to a park. Preethi gets hit by a car during the search.Rajesh gets violent and tries to kill her. He seeks the help of police to save him from this issue . After a day, Assistant commissioner warns him to be safe as Capri goes missing. She comes in search of Preethi and tries to kill her. Rajesh fights with Capri meanwhile Preethi shoots Capri to save Rajesh. The court releases preethi as she had shot Capri for self-defense. The movie ends on a happy note.

Gautham Subramaniam (Jayam Ravi) is a doctor from an Indian family who lives in Chennai. Since his father (Nizhagal Ravi) and mother are doctors, he wanted to become a doctor. Sundaravadivelu (Vijayan) is a wealthy school manager and a landlord who is a hedonist and a sadist. He finds pleasure in torturing people emotionally including his own family members. His wife Lakshmi (Ashwini) is a goodhearted homely wife, and he has two children. Sundaravadivelu never respects his wife's feelings. He is an irresponsible husband and a father. Lakshmi's father is indebted to Sundaravadivelu as he had borrowed money from him. Using this as a trump card, Sundaravadivelu proposes Lakshmi's sister. But Lakshmi's sister and father do not approve this. Sundaravadivelu is infuriated and forces out his wife from his house falsely accusing her of having an affair with the health inspector of the village. Lakshmi, who is seriously ill, passes away soon. Sundaravadivelu marries again, and his second wife shows no love or care for his kids. Meanwhile, Lakshmi's sister develops a liking towards an school teacher working at Sundaravadivelu's school. The teacher, knowing Sundaravadivelu's sadism and ill mindset, resigns from school and then proposes Lakshmi's sister. The marriage is set, and on the previous day, Lakshmi's sister goes to Sundaravadivelu's house, requesting him to send his kids with her, so that she can take care of her. Sundaravadivelu molests her which is seen by his second wife. His wife ditches him and go her way. The villagers are provoked and maddened now. They corner Sundaravadivelu and ask him to choose his way of death, and finish his life. Sundaravadivelu commits suicide, and in his last moments, he realises that he was always a sadist. Moments before his death he shares a tender moment with his kids.
