Apothecary is a 2014 Malayalam medical thriller film directed by Madhav Ramadasan and produced by George Mathew and Baby Mathew under the banner of Arambankudiyil Cinemas. The film stars Suresh Gopi, Jayasurya, Abhirami, Meera Nandan and Asif Ali.
The film received Special Jury Mention in 45th Kerala State Film Awards for Indrans and producer Dr. George Mathew.
Synopsis
Dr. Vijay Nambiar ( Suresh Gopi ) is a skilled and renowned neurosurgeon. He lives with his wife Dr. Nalini Nambiar ( Abhirami ) and their two kids. They both work at the Apothecary Hospital. The film begins with Nambiyar being admitted to the hospital because of a motor vehicle accident. He has suffered a brain injury and his chance of survival seems slim. Subin Joseph(Jayasurya) a patient of Nambiyar, comes to visit him. Subin recounts his experience at the hospital under Nambiyar's care. The hospital is revealed to be run greedily, with patients being subjected to expensive and unnecessary tests and medicines. Nambiyar is a doctor with a good reputation, but is forced by the management to run clinical trials for new drugs. He realizes that such trials are necessary for progress, but the lack of ethical protocol and the side effects of such drugs turn the lives of the patients into a living hell. This dilemma consumes him, causing him to have hallucinations of his clinical trial patients. His soul is locked in a surreal struggle between the good and the bad actions of his work. His accident was a result of such an episode, where he falls to the road in a fit of panic. Finally, he is redeemed with the realization that his work has saved thousands, compared to the few lives destroyed by his actions. Should he live, he would go on to save even more lives. Nambiyar returns to life a changed man. He confronts the hospital board about their actions. He reminds them of the word 'Apothecary' which was used years back, to refer to doctors who treated village folk with their medicines. Stating that the hospital simply retains that name, he leaves the hospital to set up a charitable institution. His wife and several of the hospital staff and patients accompany him on his new journey.Acteurs

The film tells the story of Sankara Narayanan, a 55-year-old gangman from the Indian Railways. From his teenage days onward he was afraid of the strange voices that talked to him incessantly. The film is a journey through the minds of Mohanakrishnan, a fashion photographer living in Kochi. Palamattathu Varghese Mappila (Saikumar) is a wealthy Nasrani and retired captain from the Indian Army. He has four children, Christy (Mohanlal), Joji (Dileep), Jessy (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) and Stella (Kanika). Christy is a high profile police informer who is working in Mumbai and getting high amounts as remuneration. His brother Joji goes to Italy to study theology, but later opts out of it after he falls in love with Meenakshi (Kavya Madhavan), daughter of the state home minister (Devan). His family has no clear idea about the nature of Christy's activities before Christy's brother-in-law tells a lie about him as Christy finds about brother-in-law's relationship between rowdies and cases which he was arrested for sex-racketing . All these come as a shock to Varghese Mappila. Varghese Mappila kicks Christy out of their house believing the brother-in-law. Joji is having a relationship with Meenakshi. Her parents come to know about that. And while returning home she is being kidnapped. For regaining the daughter her father calls Christy. Christy finds that his brother-in-law was the person who kidnapped Meenakshi. He fights with his brother-in-law and safely brings Meenakshi back to her home. The next day, police finds that Christy's brother-in-law was killed. Police arrests Christy for the crime. Christy's friend (Sarath Kumar) brings him out of the jail. Meanwhile, a police officer (Suresh Gopi) marries Stella. Christy helps Joji to marry Meenakshi by bringing her out of her house. Both Christy and the police officer finds out the killer of their brother-in-law was Joji. Knowing that the killer was Joji, Christy tells the police officer to arrest him instead of his beloved brother Joji.Meawhile, the villains attack mappila.To take revenge of his fathers death, christy along with gopi and sarath kumar kill the villains.

Indian Rupee is a satirical dig on contemporary youth who attempt to make quick money without sweating it out. Jayaprakash or JP (Prithviraj Sukumaran) is a small time real estate dealer based in Calicut, who dreams of making it big some day. JP is a school drop-out and in love with his cousin Beena (Rima Kallingal) who is a doctor, though her parents are not too keen about the marriage. The film traces the progress of a court martial of a Dalit soldier, Sawar Ramachandran (Parthiban), who has been accused of killing Capt. Verma and attempting to kill Capt. Kapoor (Krishna Kumar), while on guard duty. There are eyewitnesses who have noted that the incident happened in a fit of rage but are clueless about what actually transpired before Ramachandran used his weapon and even Ramachandran has pleaded guilty without being ready to disclose anything else. Prosecutor Capt. Ajay Suri (Nizhalgal Ravi) has every intention to set the noose hanging and ready for Ramachandran. From the outset, Captain Vikas Roy (Suresh Gopi), who defends the accused, is pessimistic about his chances of saving his client. But, still, he is bent on finding the truth behind the incident. And the truth is apparently an "eye opener" for the army as well as society.
