Venkataramaiah (Gummadi) respectable person in the society, who runs a timber business. He has a happy joint family with his wife Padmavathi (Jayanthi) and 3 sons & 2 daughters. Anand (Nandamuri Balakrishna) the younger son of Venkataramaiah is a very happy-go-lucky boy. He does not take up any responsibility neither does he earn anything. But he simply wastes his father's money. Accidentally he meets Kavita (Vijayashanti) who works as a dance teacher in a school. They both are very opposite to each other. They always fight with each other. But on a certain occasion Anand falls in love with Kavita but she thinks that he is just trying to fool her. Sivaram (Satyanarayana) opponent businessman to Venkataramaiah, who once worked as a worker under Venkataramaiah, always had quarrels with Venkataramaiah and Anand. After sometime Kavitha understands Anand's love, but his family members did not agree for their marriage, so Anand leaves the house and marries Kavitha. Meanwhile Sivaram throws Venkataramaiah into heavy debts, so entire property comes to the occasion. Remaining children leaves Venkataramaiah alone which leads to his heart attack and his wife's death. Finally, Anand comes to their rescue and who he keeps up his parents prestige and honor, forms the rest of the story.

Sesha Ratnam (Sarada) is very rich and headstrong women in the village Nakkabokkalapaadu. Even her husband Veera Bhadrayya (Kaikala Satyanarayana) Fears Her. They have two daughters Shobha and Neeru. Anjali Devi is Veera Bhadrayya’s Mother. Venkateswara Rao/Venkanna (Nandamuri Balakrishna) is the grand son of Anjali Devi and Nephew to Veera Bhadrayya. Sesha Ratnam doesn’t get well with her mother-in-law and never allows any of husband’s relatives to enter into her house. Veera Bhadrayya wants one of her daughters to get married to his nephew Venkateswara Rao. But Sesha Ratnam opposes the proposal. Venkateswara Rao promises his grandmother that he will marry one of Veera Bhadrayya’s daughters and unite the families. Venkanna comes to nakkbokkalapadu to make one of Sesha Ratnam’s Daughters to fall For him. But in the process, both the girls fall for him. In the end, Venkanna Convinces Sesha Ratnam and unites both the families.

NTR and Rajini are siblings separated during childhood. NTR lives with his mother (Anjali Devi) in a village while, Rajini works becomes a policeman. Vairi Vijaya Venkata Lakshmi Narayana Bhupathi, father of Anand Kumar Bhupathi (Sarath Babu) was a rich man in Ooty, whose property was unjustly usurped by Puligaolla Varhavataram (M. N. Nambiar) after his death. Anand wins a legal battle against Varhavataram. Thereafter Anand has fallen in love with Maya (Silk Smita), a gold-digger working covertly for Varhavataram. Here, Anand tells his mother Rani Vijaya Durga Devi (Anjali Devi) that he is going to get married & coming back to get her blessings along with Maya. On their way to Ooty, Maya throws Anand off the cliff near a small temple of Goddess Kali. Two decades later, Durga Prasad (Nandamuri Balakrishna) famous pop singer, an orphan raised by P. J. Naidu (Mikkilineni), is the re-incarnation of Anand's soul. He falls in love with a girl Vaishali (Bhanupriya) in first sight at a party.
