Synopsis
A woman gives birth to a daughter on the streets, her identity is unknown, and she is non-responsive. Her daughter, Manasi, is raised in the mental asylum, and looked after with love by the staff of the mental asylum. Although the chief doctor, Dr. Warrier wishes to adopt her it is denied and she is later taken away by the state social welfare department.Acteurs

Gauri (Shobhana) the sole survivor of a tragic bus accident loses her memory. Admitted to a private nursing home, where she is diagnosed as suffering from 'hysterical amnesia' (retrograde amnesia), she falls in love with the doctor's son Sarath Menon (Jayaram). However, Narendran (Suresh Gopi), Gauri's husband arrives from USA searching for Gauri. When Gauri fails to recognise Narendran, he returns without a word, never showing Sarath his wedding photos with Gauri, that he was carrying with him.

Devadathan Chemmathiripadu (Narendra Prasad), a vedic scholar is widely respected by everyone. He successfully completed Somayagam and has gained the title Somayajippadu. Leading a simple life away from all the chaos, Somayajippadu has two sons, Somadathan (Suresh Gopi) and Chithrabhanu (Jayaram). While Somadathan left for Delhi to become a journalist, Chitrabhanu stayed along with his father in order to assist him. Bhanu Namboothiri is now a chief priest in the nearby temple. During his Delhi days, Somadathan got attracted to atheism and became associated with several radical groups. One day he returns to his village to meet up with his family. But, upon arriving home, he finds the daily rituals irritating and starts questioning them. He denounces Vedas as superstition and starts propagating atheism among the villagers.

This is an adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello, revolving around Kannan Perumalayan (Suresh Gopi)), a Theyyam artist who corresponds to Othello, and Thamara (Manju Warrier), the beautiful daughter of the village head. While Unni Thampuran hates Kannan because he had a crush on Thamara, and Paniyan, (Lal) who plays a Koomali, covets the role of Theechamundi which Perumalayan holds. Paniyan plants the seeds of doubt about Thamara's fidelity in Kannan's mind, making him suspect that Thamara and his assistant Kanthan (Biju Menon) are having an affair. Kannan spots a silk robe which he had presented to Thamara in Kanthan's hands.

When they were children, Shiva and Shankar went to Mumbai in search of a living. Circumstances puts them in jail, where they meet a bully named Karunan. They escape from jail.
