The film launched a new bunch of actors which included Joe Sibi Malayil (son of director Sibi Malayil), Ben Lalu Alex (son of actor Lalu Alex), Anu Mohan (grandson of actor Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair), Vishnu Raghav and Arjun Ashokan (son of actor Harishree Ashokan). Rima Kallingal is the female lead. Manoj worked as an associate director to writer director late Lohithadas and Vinod is a School of Drama alumnus.
The film released on 5 January, and was the first Malayalam release of the year. It received largely positive reviews from the audiences and critics alike.
Synopsis
Orkut Oru Ormakoot is the story about the friendship between four boys who live together in a posh apartment. They have absolutely no values and morals and believe in having nothing but fun but their lives take a U turn when they befriend Crystal (Rima Kallingal), a Malayali girl living in Germany, through Orkut. Crystal coming to India to meet the four friends forms the rest of the story.Acteurs

A tailor falls in love with the girl next door, Sumathi. But her father, a log breaker, decides to marry her off to an NRI. Since it is inevitable to stop the marriage, the tailor decides to write a novel. Fortunately, he receives the State Award for the Best Novel. With the prize money, the tailor builds a huge Mansion. Accidentally the date of Sumathi's wedding coincides with the housewarming ceremony of the tailor's Mansion. Furthermore, the tailor tried to commit suicide and gets hospitalized. Indian Rupee is a satirical dig on contemporary youth who attempt to make quick money without sweating it out. Jayaprakash or JP (Prithviraj Sukumaran) is a small time real estate dealer based in Calicut, who dreams of making it big some day. JP is a school drop-out and in love with his cousin Beena (Rima Kallingal) who is a doctor, though her parents are not too keen about the marriage. JP along with his partner CH (Tini Tom) is scouting for a land deal. He is working under a senior agent Rayeen (Mamukoya) but wishes to break free as soon as possible. He believes that his fortunes are up for a change, when Achutha Menon (Thilakan), an old city dweller approaches him to sell off his land assets. The deal never happens, but Achutha Menon stays back with them and becomes a part of their life. Things start happening in a fantastic way for JP, soon after. JP manages to earn a decent fortune after some smart moves, but he learns some valuable lessons in the process, about the importance of earning money honestly in life.

The film is a journey through the minds of Mohanakrishnan, a fashion photographer living in Kochi. Dr. Ravi Tharakan (Prithviraj) is a renowned cardiothoracic surgeon working in a private hospital. Ayalum Njanum Thammil begins with a traumatised girl being brought to the hospital. Ravi decides to operate the girl for free, but much against the wish of her father. The girl dies during the surgery. Her father and a few local politicians accuses Dr. Tharakan for the death and protests in the hospital. Ravi is forced to flee through the backdoor, followed by the girl's relatives. He has an accident on the way and goes missing without any traces. The girl's death gains media attention and the police starts a thorough search for Dr. Ravi. The hospital management clears their hand by sacking Dr. Ravi but the chairman's private secretary Diya (Rima Kallingal) expresses dissatisfaction over the hospital's decision and starts a search on her own. She is very much attached to Ravi who had once convinced her the importance of following the ethics in medical profession. She meets Dr. Vivek (Narain) who is a very close friend and a former classmate of Ravi.
