Taqdeer (Destiny, Fate) is a 1943 Indian Hindi language comedy film. It was directed by Mehboob Khan under his Mehboob Productions banner. The star cast included a young Nargis in her first lead role along with Motilal, Chandra Mohan, Charlie, Jilloobai and Kayam Ali. Written by Ghulam Mohammed the screenplay and dialogue were by Agha Jani Kashmiri. Its music was composed by Rafiq Ghaznavi and the lyrics credited to Meharul Qadri. The story is a romantic comedy based on the lost and found formula set against an entertaining backdrop. It was the ninth highest grossing Indian film of 1943.

Bina decides to break off her engagement with Moti in order for him to marry Leela. But Moti goes after Bina and is told by her father that Bina is dead. Leela makes the final sacrifice letting Moti go to Bina.

Neela (Bibbo) and Jagirdar (Surendra) marry each other without anyone’s knowledge. However, Jagirdar goes missing at sea presumed dead. Neela realises she’s pregnant and when the child is born he’s called illegitimate. Shripat (Pande), a poor farmer marries her and helps take care of her son Ramesh. On his return Jagirdar is angry to find Neela married to Shripat and a fight ensues. When Shripat is killed by Banwarilal everyone assumes Jagirdar is the murderer. Soon with Ramesh’s help they fight the villains with the truth revealed. Ramesh finally accepts Jagirdar as his father.

A royal Indian family consists of the Emperor Maharaj (Murad), his brother Shamsher Singh (Premnath) and sister Rajshree (Nadira). A local village leader named Jai Tilak (Dilip Kumar) enters a contest to tame Princess Rajshree's horse and after he is successful Shamsher challenges him to a game of fencing. Jai is declared the winner of the fight after much dispute and Shamsher is enraged at losing to a poor villager. Jai then falls in love with Rajshree and tries numerous times to woo her but the princess's arrogance prevents her from revealing her true feelings.

After several incidents that end up uniting Rajendra and Bina, Amar gets some happiness when a daughter is born to Bina.

Alibaba and his son live with his rich brother Cassim. Marjina and Zabba are two slave girls who work in Cassim’s house. Marjina and Alibaba’s son are in love with each other. Zabba is in league with Abu Hassan, who is the leader of a gang of thieves. Alibaba finds the thieves’ cave and becomes rich. Cassim’s wife insists on knowing the secret of his wealth. Alibaba tells his brother who goes to the cave but can’t get out as he’s forgotten the magic words. The thieves find him and kill him. Alibaba and his son find Cassim and bring his body back for burial. Abu Hassan finds out about Alibaba, and the story then follows Marjina outsmarting Abu Hassan who comes visiting as a merchant.

They live in the city where Mala (Anuradha) and her father (Gani) arrive from the village. Mangoo gets into an altercation with Mala’s father and kills him. Banke (Kanhaiyalal) kidnaps Mala and sells her to a wealthy man. Mala manages to escape and stays with Raja who helps her, both falling in love in the process. WWII intervenes and the three friends enlist. The film then revolves around the return from war and the killing of a rapist by one of them. He’s tried in court and convicted for killing the rapist.

Together with the help of princess Nigar (Bibbo) who falls in love with Murad, they plan a coup and are successful in routing the Tsar and his men.

When Lala Niranjanmal dies, his two children, daughter Aruna (Aruna Devi) and son are cheated out of their inheritance by the fraudulent trustees. They incriminate Aruna in a crime for which she has to go to jail while her brother drifts away penniless and out of his mind. On release from jail, Aruna has vengeance on her mind and she becomes the fearful Deccan Queen. The police are quickly after her and police Inspector Suresh (Surendra) is put in charge to apprehend her. Vrinda (Aruna Devi) works for an Insurance company and meets Suresh. They both fall in love. It is soon realised that Vrinda and Deccan Queen resemble each other. Deccan Queen takes advantage of this. After several action scenes and the kidnapping of Vrinda by Aruna, things are sorted out when Suresh helps the Deccan Queen reveal the dishonest Trustees.
