The film is produced by Haneef Muhammed under the banner of Red Rose Creations. Manglish is the first Malayalam film to be released in Dolby Atmos.
The film is released on 27 July 2014.
Mammootty plays Malik Bhai, a wholesale fish auctioneer in Mattanchery market. An English lady, Michelle (Caroline Bech), arrives seeking help but the two have confusion in communicating.
Film Review site Indiaglitz says Manglish is a watchable family entertainer. Manglish grossed a total of 2.15 crore in its first 5 days of its release. After a week it had earned 3.50 crore.
Manglish (Malayalam + English) is a derived word in popular culture of Kerala for speaking Malayalam incorporated with English.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Ratheesh Vasudevan (Mohanlal), tries to solve the murder of Anoop C V (Fahadh Faasil), a part-time actor in local plays. Annan Thambi is the story of twin brothers, Appu and Achu (both played by Mammootty). Appu is a talkative conman who always finds himself in trouble. While Achu, a mute, is nicer than his brother, he draws a dagger on Appu due to misunderstandings created by the villain Govindan (Siddique), who is masquerading as his friend. Their father Ravunni (Janardhanan), a ballet artist, separates them due to sibling rivalry, and Appu is sent to live with relatives in Pollachi.

The story is set in 1988. Haider (Indrajith) who works for Mumbai underworld develops a plan to steal diamonds from a racket run inside a textile store in Cherupuzha. In 2000, George (Nivin Pauly), a 16-year-old pre-degree student, develops an unrequited love for Mary (Anupama Parameshwaran), the so-called "prettiest girl" in the region of Aluva. George and his friends Shambu (Shabareesh Varma) and Koya (Krishna Shankar) follow Mary and her companion Celine (Eva Prakash) around every day. George decides that he wants to propose to Mary, and Shambu and Koya accompany him to do so. However, George does not propose quickly enough, and is heartbroken to learn that Mary is in relationship with a different boy, also named George.
