Awakening is a 2013 Nigerian dark thriller film directed by James Omokwe and Ethan Okwara, starring OC Ukeje, Kehinde Bankole, Femi Brainard and Bryan Okwara. It was nominated for the category AMAA Achievement In Visual Effects at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards. The film was the highest rated film on Nollywood Reinvented at the time of release, with a score of 81%.
Alan Poza (OC Ukeje) is a rich, young music label executive who is extremely narcissistic and boasts that he can get any lady he wants eating out of his hands in approximately "3 seconds". He refers to himself as a 'sharp-shooter' and the 'rave' amongst ladies.

Just as Makinde is about to board a Taxi, he is interrupted by Ejura (Linda Ejiofor), a female Corp member who pleads for a Lift, as she is short on cash and there is a long queue at the ATM. Makinde refuses at first, but after much persuasion from Ejura, he reluctantly agrees. Even though Ejura had promised earlier to keep mute during the ride, her inquisitive nature gives Makinde facial expressions that prompt answers and eventually start a conversation.
