Dada Thakur is a 1962 Bengali feature film based on the life of Sarat Chandra Pandit (popularly known as Dada Thakur), starring Chhabi Biswas in the lead role. It won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film.

Synopsis
The film is based closely on the life of the real-life Dada Thakur, and was made in his lifetime. Dada Thakur (Chhabi Biswas) starts his career with a hand-operated press, with his wife as his assistant. Later he is joined by Nalini Kanta Sarkar, an underground freedom-fighter. Dada Thakur brings out the newspaper Jangipur Sangbad. He campaigns against social evils and earns the ire of the ruling classes. He saves a girl, Lata, from the unwanted advances of Darpanarayan (Biswajeet), scion of the local zamindar. Lata joins the ranks of freedom fighters working with Sarkar. Subsequently, a reformed Darpanarayan too becomes an ardent follower of Dada Thakur and joins the struggle for India's freedom. Dada Thakur's greatest success is when he helps an ordinary man, a petty shopkeeper, get elected as the Municipal Commissioner of Jangipur.Acteurs

Amar Doraiswamy is the only child of multi-millionaire shoemaker, who lives in a palatial house in Goa, India, along with his wife. Amar introduces a close, but poor friend, Ram, to his father, who employs him conditionally. Amar falls in love with a woman named Sushma Rai, and asks Ram to pen a love letter and poem for her. Sushma gets to read the letter and the poem, and thinking that Ram is Amar, falls in love with him. She meets him, and he is also unknowingly attracted to her, both feel that they are inseparable soul-mates. Then Ram gets a shock when he finds out that Sushma is Amar's intended and decides to stay away from her. But Sushma has other plans, for she intends to marry Ram at any cost, not realizing that by doing this, she is placing not only Ram's life, but also the lives of two other individuals, namely Uma Devi and Lalit, in jeopardy.

The nation is struck by a series of bomb blasts spread across the country. The Commissioner of Police (Murad) is baffled as to who is behind these attacks. The Commissioner receives an anonymous call where the caller tells that he knows who the masterminds behind the blasts are and their associates. He also tells that he would like to help the Police. The informant then tells that he has stored the names and images of mastermind and their associates in a microdot. The informant here is the Mr. Gonz, owner of a store, 'Twist Musical & Photo Shop'. The main mastermind or the villain is Scorpion. He gets to know that the informant is about to give their organisation's information to the police. Scorpion then sends his men or goons to recover the microdot.

Inspector Shankar (Biswajeet) is assigned to investigate the mysterious death of Sunder Singh (Sujit Kumar), whose ship wrecks on a stormy night. Sunder was off to marry Sheila (Mala Sinha), the daughter of his mother's (Nirupa Roy) childhood friend who had long died. Sheila was raised by her father, who dies of a heart attack when he comes to know of Sunder's death. Sunder's mother decides to take Sheila to live with her. In denial of her son's death, Sunder's mother keeps doing various acts in madness. She keeps serving food for Sunder, talks with his photos, and keeps feeling that her son has returned. Meanwhile Shankar and Sheila fall in love. But in her madness Sunder's mother starts preparations of Sunder's wedding with Sheila. Sunder's face-burnt body is found and the mystery continues whether his death was an accident or a murder.

Amar Kumar is an eligible bachelor and his parents are looking to match him up. Amar meets Roopa but is more attracted her cousin, Shobha. The girl is treated as a house servant in Roopa's househould. When Amar's feelings become public, Roopa beats Shobha. Frightened, she keeps away from Amar.
