Mehboob Ki Mehndi is a 1971 Hindi movie produced and directed by H S Rawail. The film stars Rajesh Khanna, Leena Chandavarkar, Pradeep Kumar and Iftekhar. The music is by Laxmikant Pyarelal with lyrics by Anand Bakshi.
Synopsis
The young and handsome Yusuf (Rajesh Khanna) is the son of a wealthy businessman named Nawab Safdarjung (Iftekhar) who is physically handicapped and uses a wheelchair. Yusuf’s nephew's tutor leaves his job. Yusuf arranges a new tutor, Shabana (Leena Chandavarkar), for his nephew. Shabana comes to live with them along with her grandmother. He also appoints Khairuddin (Pradeep Kumar) to take care of his father. However, Khairuddin has arrived only with the intention of killing Nawab Safdarjung.Acteurs

Raj is the only son of the rich man Seth Gopal Das. He has lived his childhood and teenage very lonely as his mother died when he was a child.Raj starts drinking in his adulthood and also distances himself from his father gradually.Raj starts living in a palatial bunglow, in the same city where Seth Gopal Das has his residence.Raj occasionally comes to the residence, the main bunglow where Seth Gopal Das lives.On a trip to a snowy mountain, Raj gets to meet a girl named Rupa. He manages to protect Rupa from entering into flesh trade.Then he decides to drop her to her home but due to bad condition of roads is forced to stay in a cottage with her. As the weather becomes cold, Raj develops shivering and to protect him, Rupa decides to blow air from her mouth into his and embrace him.By doing this she manages to revive him.In the morning, Raj says she should have not done such a thing for his well being in the night.Rupa says, she was grateful to him as he had saved her from being forced to sell her body, so she didn't mind doing what she eventually did.Hearing this Raaj becomes happy and enquires, she lives with whom, she says she is alone in that area as she has to send money to her dad in distant village.Raj asks her will she like to stay with him and then she agrees to join him. Also while being in love with Raj, Rupa makes him promise her that he won't take to drinking with her being alive in his life. After he reaches his home, he gets to meet Bihari and comes to know that Bihari has come on his father's order, to take him to his dad's residence as some guests are going to arrive .Raj agrees to come in the evening for dinner and there he notices that his dad has fixed his engagement with another girl.Raj comes to know that Gopal Das fixed marriage with daughter of Jamuna Das, as he was going to get huge amount in form of dowry for his son's wedding and he is in dire need of money, thanks to the incident of one of his ships drowned in the sea and it was not covered by insurance poicy taken by Gopal's company.Raj disagrees to marry Jamuna Das' daughter. Bihari discloses to Gopal Das, that the reason for Raj refusing to marry the girl of his choice is because Raj has brought a girl to his house and is interested in marrying her. Gopal Das decides to meet Rupa personally and he tells about the financial problem he is into and how Raj's marriage with the girl of his choice would help both him and Raj.Gopal asks Rupa is she not more concerned about Raj's welfare and if she is, then she should not marry him and convince her to marry the other girl.

Aarthi (Smita Patil) is an educated girl living with her young brother Sanjay Verma (Alankar Joshi) and her mother. She joins as the personal secretary to Jolly (Shakti Kapoor). Murad is a king and he makes awish that if a baby girl is born in his house, he will ensure that animals are not caged in his kingdom. The little Rajkumari is born afterwards to the Queen Veena and Murad keeps his promise of freeing the animals and visiting the temple of Eagle God with the newborn baby.Soon after the girl is born,without even allowing Veena to even get a glimpse of the newborn, Murad decides to take her on pilgrimage.On his way to the place via forest he is attacked by Kamal Kapoor who is sent by Pradeep to steal the treasury and kill Murad so that he can be the King, being next in line after Murad and all bodyguards of Murad are killed. Murad asks his elephant driver Ram Singh to take the baby away and give all the gold jewels in the elephant cast to the God Eagle.Ram Singh being an honest servant, decides to take the baby but is attacked so orders his elephant to take the cart and handover the baby to God Eagle. At the palace, Pradeep receives word that the Rajkumari and the treasure have vanished but that the king is dead. He announces that Ram Singh has betrayed his king and offers his baby girl Taramati to poor grieving Veena as compensation for her lost daughter. Ram Singh’s wife (Nirupa Roy flees with her young son Raju as their house is burned to the ground by Pradeep’s men.

A poor peasant (Kapoor) from the village, who comes to the city in search of work, is looking for some water to quench his thirst. He unwittingly enters an apartment building, whose residents take him for a thief and chase him. He runs from one flat to the other trying to escape his predicament. Along the way, he witnesses many shady undertakings in the flats where he hides. A young widow commits suicide when she is compelled to forgo her modesty to save her child from illness. The child runs away on seeing his dead mother and becomes a thief named Raja. Raja is a very handsome and intelligent thief who manages to steal and escape from police every time. He lives with his friend Tony who dreams of marrying his girlfriend Mary. Raja once steals at a home during a night and police chase him. To escape from police he enters into a marriage hall and in bridegroom's room. He finds a letter of groom who ran away as he does want to marry the girl his father arranged for him. Raja disguises himself as groom veiling his face with flowers when original groom's father knocks the door. Raja eventually marries the girl in the marriage hall.He feels troubled on whatever happened and he escapes from the room during the nuptial night without even seeing who is his wife as she also veiled her face with wedding dress. The groom's father and the bride misunderstands that original groom has escaped from the hall. Raja is caught by police and he sets to jail for six months. The original groom dies in an accident on the same night. Nirmala (the girl whom Raja married) is thrown out by her in-laws as she is an unlucky girl because of which their son died. Nirmala returns to her uncle's home where she is not welcomed due to their financial position. She wanders everywhere and she finds no help from anybody rather try to spoil her modesty. She turns to a courtesan and dances for her living.
