It is surprising that very few people know about this movie. Perhaps the cast of the film Vijay Anand, Trilok Kapoor, Ranjan, Jairaj etc., were not able to attract audience. Further this was a song-less movie. Leena Chandavarkar has never looked such beautiful, romantic and lovely as she looked and performed here. One must view this movie for its presentation and of course, for Leena Chandavarkar.

Vijay (Shashi Kapoor) is an engineer, who is in love with a rich girl named Rekha (Mumtaz). Rekha's snobby father disapproves because Vijay is not wealthy, and so he has arranged for her to be married to a son of an evil politician. The evil politician is played by Madan Puri. Rekha's father and the politician frame Vijay for a crime that he didn't commit, and he goes to jail. When he's in jail, he becomes friends with three other prisoners. All four men escape from jail. After Vijay reconnects with Rekha, they all go to a small village called Shantinagar and help save the village from the evil politician and the bandits that terrorize the town. The evil politician is arrested. Rekha's father feels remorse and accepts Vijay. Vijay and his three prisoner friends go back to jail. However, the film ends on an optimistic tone indicating that their good deeds will be rewarded (i.e. that their prison sentences will be shortened).

Don, chef d'un gang international, est traqué puis tué par un officier de police, le commissaire D'Silva. Celui-ci décide de ne révéler à personne la mort de Don. Set against the Sino-Indian War of 1962, the film's main plot concerns a small platoon of Indian soldiers in the hilly terrain of Ladakh who are considered dead but are rescued by Ladakhi tribesmen and by Capt. Bahadur Singh (Dharmendra). They are asked to retreat from their post (chowky) as the Chinese have surrounded them. Capt. Bahadur Singh and his girlfriend Angmo (Priya Rajvansh) die holding the Chinese at bay so that their comrades can retreat to safety. But even the retreating soldiers are heavily outnumbered and give up their lives for the country.

Street-wise and poor, Amar Nath (Amitabh Bachchan) makes a living selling cinema tickets and fast-food snacks (Bhel Puri) outside cinema halls. He is taken under the wing of a politician and Chair of the "Garibon Ki Party", Shankar Narayan (Kader Khan), allowed to join the Police Academy, and returns as a Police Inspector. He falls in love and gets married to Asha (Sridevi), the only daughter of multi-millionaire businessman, Sitaram (Utpal Dutt). When he successfully apprehends and kills a terrorist by the name of Anil Raj (played by Tiger Prabhakar), he is promoted as the Assistant Commissioner of Police. Then Amar also apprehends and kills a smuggler by the Koya Koya Atachi (Shakti Kapoor), and gets immensely popular with the public, so much so that Shankar Narayan resigns and asks Amar to be the Chair of the political party, which Amar accepts and quits his job from the Police Force. It is then that pregnant Asha finds out that Amar is not who he claims to be but is a pawn in the hands of skilled politicians - who have been using him as their hit-man, and now are ready to use him as the Chief Minister so that they can carry on with their nefarious activities. Watch what Asha does to prevent Amar from influencing their newborn son, and from attaining power.
