Amit Kumar (born 3 July 1952) is an Indian film playback singer, actor, director, and music director. He is the son of the legendary Indian singer and actor Kishore Kumar and the Bengali singer and actress Ruma Guha Thakurta. Like his father, Amit loved singing and from childhood used to sing during Durga Pooja functions in Kolkata. Once when he was performing on stage in a Durga Pooja function arranged by Bengali actor Uttam Kumar, people kept requesting more songs and this information reached his mother. She complained to Kishore Kumar that his son was singing "filmy" songs. Hearing that, Kishore Kumar decided to bring him to Bombay.
Before that, Kishore Kumar had cast Amit as his son in two films that he produced himself, Door Gagan Ki Chhaon Mein and Door Ka Raahi (with Amit as a teenager). The song "Aa chalke tujhe, mein leke chaloon" was filmed with Kishore Kumar singing to his eleven-year-old son Amit Kumar.
He has sung many Bollywood and regional film songs since the 1970s and was more actively singing in Indian films from 1970 to 1994 as after death of R. D. Burman in 1994, citing lack of good quality music being composed and disappointed with Kishore Kumar clones like Kumar Sanu who had nasal touch and Abhijeet, who did not sing from stomach as per Amit Kumar, he withdrew from playback singing and concentrated on live orchestra shows since 1995 and continues to perform worldwide. In addition to singing in Hindi, has also performed in Bangla, Bhojpuri, Oriya, Assamese, Marathi, and Konkani.

Dushant (played by Khan), Jaya (Tandon), Sujit (Behl) and Nisha (Nishan) are childhood friends. Dushant aspires to become a successful singer but has little money. Jaya helps him to realize his ambitions. As Dushant achieves success, a rift is created between the two of them. Sujit and Nisha take undue advantage of this to get close to Dushant and create a misunderstanding between him and Jaya. Kamlesh Dhingra (Avtaar Gill), Nisha's father, approaches Dushant for financial assistance for his business venture but is turned down by Rajpal (Kiran Kumar), Dushant's mentor. Dhingra and Sujit plot to amass Dushant's wealth by luring Dushant to marry Nisha and getting rid of Rajpal. Dushant learns of this plot. When Sujit is murdered, Rahul (Amit Kumar), a police officer, comes to investigate the murder. Nisha is also murdered under mysterious circumstances and the climax builds when Dhingra is also killed.

Dans une Inde féodale, l'État de Rajasthan est une région déserte qui est gouvernée par un Seigneur cruel et sadique qui, à l'aide de guerriers sous les ordres de Lafcadia, exerce un régime de terreur sur ceux qui s'opposent à son pouvoir. Lafcadia est récemment devenu veuf ; il a toutefois un enfant, Katiba. Un jour, Katiba se lie d'une profonde amitié avec une jeune fille, qui attache un rakhi à son poignet faisant de lui son frère, en retour, il lui donne son amulette. Quand le seigneur demande à Lafcadia de soumettre les villageois de Tarang à ses ordres, ces derniers préfèrent lui échapper. Après le raid que Lafcadia organise, ses guerriers violent et pillent les villageois ; mais quand Lafcadia aperçoit l'amulette de son fils sur une jeune fille, il lui sauve la vie. Il regrettera alors très profondément d'avoir ravagé le village, et renoncera à son statut pour chercher la paix dans le village de Kullu, dans l'Himalaya. Quand le Seigneur l'apprend, il demande aux guerriers de le pourchasser et de le tuer. Cependant, ils n'y parviennent pas. Aussi, pour satisfaire leur Seigneur, ils tuent un sosie de Lafcadia et amènent sa tête devant le Seigneur. Ils capturent également Katiba, à qui il est demandé d'identifier son père. Devant le Seigneur, il affirmera qu'il s'agit bien de la tête de son père. Alors, il est également tué. Dévasté et sans arme, Lafcadia est seul quand un voleur, Riaz, décide de le suivre. Incapable de le faire fuir, Lafcadia l'ignore. Au cours de leur périple, Riaz en viendra à lui demander si c'est lui qui a tué son père.
