Sanjay Suri (en hindi संजय सूरी) est un acteur indien qui a fait carrière à Bollywood.
C'est en 2003 que Sanjay Suri se fait vraiment remarquer des critiques et du public avec ses rôles dans Pinjar (aux côtés d’Urmila Matondkar) puis Jhankaar Beats (où il côtoie Juhi Chawla). En 2005, il reçoit des critiques très positives pour son rôle dans Nikhil, mon frère réalisé par Onir. Par la suite, il travaille avec Onir à plusieurs reprises, en jouant dans Bas Ek Pal puis Sorry Bhai!. En 2010, il co-fonde avec Onir la maison de production Anticlock Films afin de réaliser I Am (où il tient un rôle) et de promouvoir les créations de jeunes réalisateurs.

Biographie
Sanjay Suri est né le 6 avril 1971 à Srinagar, au Kashmir, en Inde. En 1990, il déménage à New Delhi où il entame une carrière de mannequin. Pendant une dizaine d'années, il pose pour différentes marques. En 1999, il obtient son premier rôle secondaire dans un film, Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. Le film n'est pas un grand succès, mais Sanjay est remarqué et obtient d'autres rôles par la suite : en 2001 dans Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence, en 2002 dans Filhaal... et la comédie musicale Dil Vil Pyar Vyar.C'est en 2003 que Sanjay Suri se fait vraiment remarquer des critiques et du public avec ses rôles dans Pinjar (aux côtés d’Urmila Matondkar) puis Jhankaar Beats (où il côtoie Juhi Chawla). En 2005, il reçoit des critiques très positives pour son rôle dans Nikhil, mon frère réalisé par Onir. A fourteen-year-old Dalit boy (Soham Maitra) is growing up in an unnamed corner of India. Sridhar Ranjan, a social activist, has gone missing from Majuli, Assam. After almost 7 years, when as per law he is about to be officially declared dead, his old journalist friend Abhijit Shandilya (Sanjay Suri) goes in search of Sridhar from Mumbai to Majuli. In Majuli, Abhijit finds himself to be a stranger of sorts in a place that’s infested with terrorists and where both the police and the terrorists seem to be suspicious of him. He befriends with his local guide Sudakshina ( Bidita Bag). Sudakshina apparently also was the guide for Sridhar when he came to Majuli initially. She however seems to be living with her own fears and stops short of getting close to Abhijit whenever an occasion comes up. The rest of the story revoles around Abhijit trying solve the mystery behind the disappearance of Sridhar.

The story follows Rahul (Jimmy Shergill), a young businessman who comes back from the U.S. to patch things up with his girlfriend Preeti (Kaveri Jha). His father, Varma (Sachin Khedekar) is mysteriously murdered as he goes to find a flat for Rahul. His friend Karan (Sanjay Suri), a rich salesman, gives his old flat to Rahul. After Rahul enters the flat, his life takes an unexpected turn when the unexplainable disappearance of Preeti takes place, and finally Rahul finds himself trapped in his own flat. With no connection to the outside world, Rahul is stuck and realises that a ghost is living in the flat with him, who won't let him go. He tries to contact Karan, but is unsuccessful. He then finds a diary in his room, which is opened by the ghost who allows him to read it.

Firaaq décrit la vie quotidienne de plusieurs personnages à Ahmedabad dans les jours qui suivent la fin des violences de 2002. Mohsin, un enfant musulman dont la mère a été tuée, est à la recherche de son père. Il est recueilli par Aarti (Deepti Naval), une hindoue dont le mari a profité des émeutes pour piller des magasins appartenant à des musulmans. Muneera, une jeune habitante du quartier musulman dont la maison a été brûlée, soupçonne le mari de sa meilleure amie d'être l'auteur de l'incendie. Dans le même quartier, un groupe de jeunes musulmans cherchent à acquérir une arme dans le but de venger leur communauté. Enfin, un vieux musicien, Khan sahib (Naseeruddin Shah), à qui ses proches ont dissimulé la violence des évènements, se désole de voir fondre le nombre de ses spectateurs.

Siddharth Mathur (Sharman Joshi), a shy young scientist, travels to Mauritius for his elder brother Harsh's (Sanjay Suri) wedding. Accompanying him is his mother Gayatri (Shabana Azmi), a reluctant traveller since she is angry at Harsh for deciding to get married without consulting them. Also travelling is Siddharth's cheery father Navin (Boman Irani), whose sole entertainment is pulling Gayatri's leg. Harsh, pre-occupied with work, can spend little time with his family and it is left to his fiancée Aaliyah (Chitrangada Singh) to show them around Mauritius before the wedding. However, Ma's anger at Harsh ensures that she takes an instant dislike for Aaliyah, and it is Aaliyah and Siddharth who end up spending loads of time together. This, added to the fact that Aaliyah feels neglected by the career-obsessed Harsh, leads to them being irresistibly drawn to each other. A horrified Siddharth battles this attraction desperately, but Aaliyah has fallen madly in love and pursues him with single-minded determination. When Siddharth’s defences start crumbling and Ma starts getting suspicious, all hell breaks loose in the Mathur family.

Reena, hesitant to break off an engagement arranged by her parents, feels that she owes Shekhar her entire career, while Alex is struggling with Reena's mother and Shekhar himself, who both feel that Reena and Alex might be too interested in each other. Bobby K. meanwhile, after a broken down car, gets stuck with Alisha in some abandoned hut at the beach, they have an opportunity to talk and make up, however shortly afterwards, a misunderstanding occurs and Alisha feels betrayed all over again. Reena, meanwhile, tells Alex to leave, as she is going to accept her family's wishes and will marry Shekhar in order to preserve the tradition of an arranged marriage. Alex is all ready to leave India and Bobby finds out that Shekhar is having an affair with a co-worker (The entire affair is caught on CD). Reena's parents tell her not give up her happiness and tell her to go after Alex, Bobby clarifies the misunderstanding between him and Alisha and makes her pursue her dreams and Reena stops Alex to leave the country after a rickshaw chase. Everything ends well and Reena and Alex, after professing their love for each other, get married.
