I Am est un film indo-japonais réalisé par Onir en 2010 et sorti en salles en Inde le 29 avril 2011.
Le film rassemble quatre courts métrages : Omar, Afia, Abhimanyu et Megha, présentant les histoires de quatre personnages aux vies tourmentées, qui abordent des sujets de société : l'homosexualité en Inde, le don de sperme, les abus sexuels sur les enfants, et les questions de religions en Inde. Le film, présenté dans plusieurs festivals à partir de septembre 2010, a remporté plusieurs prix.

L'action se passe à Goa, un petit État indien, une ancienne colonie portugaise, entre 1989 et 1994. Nikhil Kapoor est un champion de natation. Nikhil Kapoor (Sanjay Suri) decides to return from the USA to Mumbai. When he arrives, he decides to chill out at a nightclub. There he meets a woman and instantly falls for her; she, however, doesn't even introduce herself. After he asks her name, she goes away. The next day, Nikhil meets his old friend Rahul (Jimmy Shergill). The two play basketball and hang out together. Whilst in the company of Rahul and Steve (Rehaan Engineer), another one of Nikhil's friend; the woman shows up again and she is revealed to be Anamika Joshi (Urmila Matondkar). She walks in with her friend Farhad, and when Nikhil tries to talk to Anamika, Farhad begins to think he is flirting with or disturbing her, and a fight breaks out.

Siddharth Mathur (Sharman Joshi), a shy young scientist, travels to Mauritius for his elder brother Harsh's (Sanjay Suri) wedding. Accompanying him is his mother Gayatri (Shabana Azmi), a reluctant traveller since she is angry at Harsh for deciding to get married without consulting them. Also travelling is Siddharth's cheery father Navin (Boman Irani), whose sole entertainment is pulling Gayatri's leg. Harsh, pre-occupied with work, can spend little time with his family and it is left to his fiancée Aaliyah (Chitrangada Singh) to show them around Mauritius before the wedding. However, Ma's anger at Harsh ensures that she takes an instant dislike for Aaliyah, and it is Aaliyah and Siddharth who end up spending loads of time together. This, added to the fact that Aaliyah feels neglected by the career-obsessed Harsh, leads to them being irresistibly drawn to each other. A horrified Siddharth battles this attraction desperately, but Aaliyah has fallen madly in love and pursues him with single-minded determination. When Siddharth’s defences start crumbling and Ma starts getting suspicious, all hell breaks loose in the Mathur family.

Juhi is an aging prostitute whose son, Kaku, is a wheelchair-bound. She finds it challenging to take care of him with the limited number of customers that now find her attractive. Debu, a not so successful lyricist, is dumped by his boyfriend, and is out on streets. These characters, in need of money and love, bump into each other, after which their lives take a similar direction. À l'occasion du 50e anniversaire de l'indépendance de l'Inde, Amarkanth Varma (Shahrukh Khan), journaliste d'All India Radio, est envoyé dans les territoires frontaliers pour interroger les populations locales sur l’évolution de leurs conditions de vie. Amar décide de rentrer à New Delhi où il s'apprête à épouser Preeti Nair (Preity Zinta), jeune femme moderne et délurée choisie par sa famille. Quand Meghna resurgit, Amar sent qu'elle porte un lourd secret qui l'empêche de l'aimer comme il l'aime. En effet, Meghna a une mission à accomplir : elle fait partie d’un groupe de terroristes et prépare un attentat à Delhi. Habitée par sa mission, elle est également attirée par une autre vie, par l'envie d'être une jeune femme amoureuse. Amar découvre enfin son secret et cherche à empêcher le pire. La course contre la montre commence.
