Tahir Hussain (1938 – 2 February 2010) was the younger brother of producer, director, and writer Nasir Hussain and the father of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan. Hussain directed his son, Aamir, for the first (and only) time in his directorial debut Tum Mere Ho in 1990.

He is related to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

On 2 February 2010 he died in Mumbai following a heart attack.

Seema is the only child of widowed Mohan, who is adopted by Mohan's boss, Sardar Ranjit Singh, who has no heir to his estate, as his daughter, Jamuna, eloped with a poor peasant, Gopal. Ranjit does not get along with his step-brother, Shankar. Jamuna manages to placate her dad, & he goes to her house, only to find it in flames with Gopal burned to death, and their son, Sunder, missing. Years later, Seema has now grown up and meets with a young man named Pyarelal in Ooty. She meets him a year later, but this time he introduces himself as Jhatpat Singh, a man she was supposedly engaged to in their childhood. Shortly thereafter she meets with the real Jhatpat Singh, and changes her mind about the fake Jhatpat Singh alias Pyarelal. Now Sunil knows that he was adopted and understands that he was the lost son of Gopal. He goes to Sardar Ranjit Singh and appoints to be an estate manager. There he meets Seema again and they rekindle their romance. By that time, planning to steal away property, Shankar sends his son as the lost son of Jamuna and Gopal. Ranjit Singh believes him and wants to marry seema to Shankar's son. After some misunderstandings, family finally reunites and Jamuna's sanity returns. Movie ends with the marriage of Seema and Sunil/Sunder.

Nisha lives a very wealthy lifestyle in Neelgaon, India, with her businessman dad, Sardar Roop Singh. She is now of marriageable age, and her dad wants her to marry his friend's son, Sohan, but Nisha dislikes him. While traveling to Darjeeling with a dance troupe, she meets with her dad's business associates' son, Popat Lal, and after a few misadventures, both fall in love with each other. She takes him to meet her dad where he can also finalize his business transaction, but when Roop comes inside, he finds that Popat has disappeared, and in his place is another man claiming to be the real Popat. Nisha's heart is broken and she starts to hate Popat. She does meet with Popat, who tells her that his real name is Sunder and both had been promised to each other by their respective parents, but Roop had subsequently changed his mind. Nisha believes him and agrees to marry him without her father's blessings. When the marriage is to take place, a man named Khanna comes over and tells Nisha that Sunder is already married to woman named Shanti, who he subsequently killed, and had been the primary accused in this case by the police. Watch what impact this news has on the marriage, and see what excuses Sunder now comes up with.

À la suite du décès de sa sœur et de son beau-frère, Rahul Malhotra (Aamir Khan) prend la direction de l'entreprise familiale et a également la charge de ses deux neveux et de sa nièce : Sunny (Kunal Khemu), Munni (Baby Ashrafa) et Vicky (Sharokh Irani). Mais Rahul se heurte d'une part aux multiples dettes de l'entreprise et d'autre part au comportement infernal des trois enfants qui épuisent les nounous les unes après les autres. Remis de sa surprise, il engage Vaiyjanti comme baby-sitter. Tout le monde découvre la vie à cinq, les enfants s'entendent à merveille avec Vaiyjanti et cette dernière et Rahul tombent amoureux. Mais Maya (Navneet Nishan), fille de M. Bijlani (Dalip Tahil) envers lequel la société de Rahul est endettée, aime également Rahul et demande à son père de tout mettre en œuvre pour qu'il l'épouse.
