Jeevana Poratam is a 1986 Telugu film is directed by Rajachandra. It starrs Sobhan Babu and Rajinikanth in the lead roles as brothers. It is a remake of Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, the 1974 Block-Buster Hindi Film.
Synopsis
Jeevana Poratam is the story about the mismanagement and selfishness of the leaders of India. Many people had striven for the independence of the country, but when we got the independence then the scenario is totally opposite. Bharath (Sobhan Babu) has become the victim. In spite of being a gold medalist he had to suffer unemployment. His father Gummadi always scolds him for this. He has 2 brothers rajni and naresh and a sister. Rajinikanth joins hands with bad people and knowing this Sobhan babu scolds him and Rajinikanth disappears and comes in the end after joining the army (he loses is hand in war). Vijayasanthi and Sobhan are related and love each other..Meanwhile vijayasanthi gets a job in Sarat babu's office and sarat babu loves her. Vijaysanthi slowly falls for Sarat Babu seeing his wealth and neglects Sobhan Babu. She even gets engaged to Sarat Babu. At this time, Radhika enters his life. Due to circumstances, Sobhan Babu joins hands with Rao Gopalrao and becomes rich. Rajinikanth comes at this time and helps his brother to leave the bad people and everything ends well with Vijayasanthi losing her life in the course.Acteurs

Rosy (Meena), a limb and left arm paralyzed girl child with weak cardiac health, lives at an orphanage (Karunai Illam) alongside with other orphan children that were dumped by their parents forsaking due to disabilities or reasons having no parents and or for other reasons. The fact that she had been quit by her parents for untold reasons since her birth and her disability to be like other normal children attributes to her rudeness being uncaring and ignorant towards anyone. She even ill treats all her caretakers on the orphanage which turmoils to hatefulness on her by almost all other orphanage workers except the kind mother superior who heads the karunai Illam and is always kind to everyone and tries to tether the fact of love and affection to everyone regardless of ones ages. It is in the beginning of the movie, that is shown that mother superior consults doctors but for what or for whom or why isn't shown. (Ambika) arrives to karunai illam as a babysitting caretaking woman, who also does the role of a mother. She is assigned to take care of rosy by mother superior. She unlike any other's expectations, takes care of rosy despite her rudeness and shows extra care for her like a real mother herself, which even surprises mother superior as the older care takers gave up and sidelined when it came to taking care of rosy owing her arrogance.

Ranga (Rajinikanth) alias Ranganathan who lost his sister Laksmi (K . R .Vijaya) in childhood,comes to the city searching for work suitable for his graduation.He meet Raju (Karate Mani) who is a thief . Ranga advise Raju to give up his crime and be a good man . Raju does not know that is Ranga who came to kidnap Suresh as Ranga was in disguise . Ranga realise it was Raju and he came and meet upon Raju . Raju's joyness was no bound as he meet Ranga and tells him that he work as a guardian for Suresh.Raju also introduce Laksmi to Ranga . Unknowing that Ranga was her brother and a hitman, she agreed to keep Ranga as another guardian for Suresh . Ranga reveals his true nature to Raju that he is one who attempt to kidnap Suresh. Raju advise Ranga to give his crime and be loyal to Laksmi . Ranga however determine to kidnap Suresh and also challenges Raju, that he will chase him out and finish his task, which he does . But, Ravi was a brother of Laksmi's husband played a double cross game to Ranga and reveals him that Laksmi is his sister. But then Ranga was caught by Ravi's thugs but Raju came to the rescue and saved Ranga . Ravi was dashed in jail, Ranga with his lover Ganga, sister and Raju lead a happy life .

The story revolves around Chakravarthy (Older Rajini) who is a successful textile businessman in Coimbatore. He is a great womaniser (perhaps his only weakness) and picks up any women he wants. He has wife Meenakshi (Lakshmi), his son Santosh (also Rajini) and his daughter Sangeetha (Vijayashanthi). It doesn't take long for Santosh to find his father's provocative behavior and tries to mend his father's ways. Radha (Saritha) gets introduced as a candidate for PRO (Public Relations Officer) interview and eventually gets selected and is sent to Hong Kong for training. Chakravarthy unable to tolerate his son's growing menace also sets off to Hong Kong for a vacation. Here he meets Radha and at one point ends up raping her. Chakravarthy flies back to India where he is met with a number of changes which all points out to the new General Manager. This person turns out be Radha who has joined with Santosh to teach Chakravarthy a lesson for lifetime. How the duo succeed in changing Chakravarthy's behaviour forms the crux of the story.
