Kaka Radhakrishnan (c. 1925 – 14 June 2012) was an Indian film actor who acted in Tamil language films from the 1940s onwards. He is also notable for having introduced his childhood friend, Sivaji Ganesan, into films.

Deepika (Kamna) can't bear with the control her mother (Vani Viswanath)imposes on her life by . Chandru (Prashanth) – graduate, works in a Florist shop owned by Manivannan. Chandru visits his friend’s STD booth, where he see many girls waiting for their boy friend’s phone call. Two music directors Bharathi (Vijayakumar) and Kannan (Nassar) used to be friends and composed music together. After Kannan has a fight with the director of their movie, Bharathi who feels embarrassed decided to split from Kannan and compose the music for the film by himself. He offers Kannan the chance to reconcile after this movie. Kannan rejects this and instead gives details about the fallout to the newspaper and Bharathi ends up losing the movie deal. Sakthi (Karthik) is a spoiled rich child, with his mother (Sachu) and grandfather (Kaka Radhakrishnan) constantly doting on him with cash and gifts. His father (Vinu Chakravarthy) is worried that he has such a good-for-nothing son. Sakthi falls head over heels in love with Indhu (Rambha). Sakthivel’s uncle, Kundalakesi (Goundamani), aids Sakthi in declaring his love to Indhu. In the meantime, Sakthi's father meets his long-lost friend (Jaiganesh) and they agree on a marriage proposal for their children. Sakthi, (who wrongly believes that he is being forced into an arranged marriage) does not realize that Indhu is indeed Jayaganesh’s daughter and gets his cousin Mathi (Vivek) and Kundalakesi to misbehave and create a fight during the engagement. Eventually the truth is revealed Indhu is furious. Sakthi sees a girl called Latha (Indhu) committing suicide. Inspector (Madhan Bob) wrongly thinks they are a married couple and tries to marry them to each other but Sakthi escapes. Sakthi mistakenly hurts another girl (Vinodhini) whose father (S. S. Chandran) also thinks him her husband. Sakthi's cousin, Mathi, is a henpecked husband to a rich and arrogant wife (Anju) and lies to her that Vichithra is Sakthi's husband. At last, Sakthi is going to marry Indhu, but people who areknown to the three girls come and misbehave. The three girls explain the situation and make them understand what happened. Sakthi and Indhu get married.

Au début du cinéma parlant, dans l'état du Pays Tamoul... Anandan (Mohanlal), acteur débutant et Tamizhselvam (Prakash Raj), auteur prolifique, deviennent les meilleurs amis du monde. Si, le premier vise le succès au cinéma, au prix de milles efforts, le second espère gravir les marches de la politique, avec l'appui d'un bon réseau. Tous deux, très prometteurs, dans leurs catégories, veulent absolument briller, dans leur pays. C'est alors (au début des années 1950) que Tamizhselvam suggère à son ami, Anandan, de le rejoindre au sein d'un parti régionaliste qui monte et emmené par son charismatique leader, Ayya Vélouthambi (Nasser). En vieux briscard de la politique, Ayya Vélouthambi y voit d'un bon œil l'occasion d'utiliser la notoriété grandissante d'Anandan, pour la vitrine de son mouvement. Il demande dans ce sens, à Tamizhselvam, de rédiger des scénarios qui servent aussi bien Anandan que la cause de leur idéologie. À présent figure incontournable et indispensable de leur courant (au début des années 1960), la star de cinéma (Mohanlal) est dans les petits papiers du fondateur (Nasser), ce qui porte ombrage au stratège (Prakash Raj) et lui fait naitre une pointe de jalousie. Plusieurs années plus tard (en1969), devenu le parti majoritaire, Ayya Vélouthambi décède d'une longue maladie, en plein mandat, laissant le poste vacant, mais aussi, confusions et questions qui vont mettre à mal l'amitié des deux hommes, à rude épreuve aussi bien Anandan que Tamizhselvam. Leur clans et entourage respectifs profitent pour souffler sur les braises de la discorde entre eux, jusqu'à la rupture, au point de non-retour. C'est ainsi qu'Anandan et Tamizhselvam vont prendre chacun leur chemin et s'opposer au sommet avec férocité, pour le poste de ministre en chef de leur pays. Amis encore hier, ils sont aujourd'hui, les pires ennemis...

Jeevanandhan "Jeeva" (Vijay) is a very rich young man. Although his parents (Sivakumar and Srividhya) want him to settle down, he goes to another city to do his MBA and stays with friends. During this time, he meets Mini (Shalini) and they fall in love. She reciprocates his feelings, but trouble comes in the form of her tyrannical trio of brothers (Raatha Ravi, Thalaivasal Vijay and Shaji Khan) who are over-protective of their little sister and take an irrational dislike to Jeeva. They show hostility towards Jeeva and conflicts arise within the households and the couple decides to elope, they go to Kesavan’s Hometown and Manivannan refuge them before the Proposed Wedding. Jeeva tries to convince his mother one last time and in vain. On the day of the wedding both realize they miss their families. They decide to return home, relinquishing their feelings, and the families are happy and take them back. Jeeva’s Mom wants to see Mini so that she can get a better wife for his son goes to meet Mini. Initially reluctant to welcome them, the brothers hesitate, but their mother is welcomes them, ultimately their families accept their love, and they are reunited.

Kuppusamy (Nassar), an innocent man, dreams to perform in Pandi's troupe. Pandi (Delhi Ganesh) is a respected male troupe leader, and the troupe performs in Hindu festivals. Baasi (Bala Singh) is expelled from the troupe for his bad behaviour. Finally, Pandi accepts Kuppusamy into his troupe. Ponnamma (Revathi), Pandi's daughter, a blind girl, falls in love with Kuppusamy. For some time, the festivals organizers prefer female dancers. Pandi dies during a stage performance and the troupe splits up. Kuppusamy leaves the village with Ponnamma to become a cinema actor. There, they meet Baasi and he accommodates them. Baasi rapes Ponnamma and kills her. Kuppusamy is sent to a mental hospital but he manages to escape. Kuppusamy is determined to take revenge.
