Vidyasagar is an National award winning Indian film composer, musician and singer who works predominantly in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi film industries. After working with several composers as assistant and conductor, Vidyasagar made his debut as a film composer in the 1989 Tamil film Poomanam. Working for over 250 feature films, he is the recipient of the prestigious National Award and five Filmfare Awards.
In 1994-95, Vidyasagar was selected by Tamil actor-director Arjun, with whom he worked for many acclaimed musical films like Jai Hind, Karna and Subash. Vidyasagar composed some of the music for Arjun's films with some melodic numbers like Malare and Padu Padu.
From 1996 to 2001 Vidyasagar mainly concentrated on Malayalam films. He won four Kerala State Film Award.
During this period, Vidyasagar's also composed songs for Tamil movies like 1998 Vijay's Nilaave Vaa and Uyirodu Uyiraga, starring Ajith.
In 2003, he composed songs for Anbe Sivam and Run. This was followed by Madhurey, London and Ji in 2004-05. In 2005 Vidyasagar received the [National Film Awards]] for Telugu movie Swarabhishekam by K. Vishwanath featuring carnatic music. Vidyasagar continued composing music for Chandramukhi starring Rajnikanth. The audio of the movie was a best seller and its soundtrack was also released. He composed music for the Hollywood movie Beyond the Soul directed by Rajeev Anchal. This period also saw him score music for the Hindi movie Hulchul directed by Priyadarshan. In 2008 Vidyasagar released chart-topping songs for Kuruvi. In 2008-2009, Vidyasagar composed various hits for Abhiyum Naanum.

Rajendra Prasad is a magician who works with his friend Gundu Hanumanta Rao. He one day finds a cute little girl bruised and finds out that her uncle Kota Srinivasa Rao killed her parents. The girl manages to escape when he's about to kill her as well. Now Kota Srinivasa Rao's after her and Rajendra Prasad protects her. But one day when he performs a magic trick for the girl, she becomes blind. Rajendra Prasad asks the doctor to do an eye operation but has to collect the money. When he does, he gets blamed for a murder committed by Kota Srinivasa Rao and is arrested while the doctors refuse to give the girl her eye operation. Will the girl ever get her eye operation and how Rajendra Prasad stops the villains forms the rest of the story.

Krishna Murthy (Rajendra Prasad) is son of industrialist Satyanarayana (Nutan Prasad). Satyanarayana is worried about Krishna Murthy's marriage, so much so that he imagines every young woman who happened to be seen by him as his daughter-in-law. Krishna Murthy meets Padma (Rajani) in his friend's marriage and cupid strikes them. Krishna Murthy is afraid of revealing his love for Padma to his father directly as he fears his father may reject it out rightly. His initial attempts to reveal his love life to his father through letters are thwarted by his butler in fear for Satyanarayana's life. Desperate to reveal the love matter to Satyanarayana, Krishnamurthy then tries various gimmicks and at last is successful. A panicked Satyanarayana inquires about the family background of Padma and finds out that she is the daughter of Lakshmipathy (Kota Srinivasa Rao), a noted miser in his village. Aware of his father's concerns, Krishnamurthy reassures Satyanarayana and lands in Lakshmipathy's house posing as a miser. Krishnamurthy's pretense and pranks beget intended effect in Lakshmipathy and brings him closer to Padma. A marriage proposal from Sudhakar (Subhaleka Sudhakar), who is accompanied by his two glutton brothers much to the chagrin of Lakshmipathy, for Padma ends in Lakshmipathy favoring Krishnamurthy. Elated with the turn of events, Krishnamurthy prepares for marriage with Padma and invites Satyanarayana. However, his plans turn soar as Lakshmipathy, in his greed for money, abuses Krishnamurthy assuming that he is from poor family, before Satyanarayana confronts Lakshmipathy. A dejected Krishnamurthy requests Satyanarayana to give him one more chance to teach Lakshmipathy a lesson. Krishnamurthy, along with 'aragundu' Brahmanandam (Brahmanandam), a disgruntled butler of Lakshmipathy set about to transform Lakshmipathy. Krishnamurthy tacitly arranges for three different marriage proposals, starting with Sudhakar, with each proposer agreeing to offer more bride price than the earlier proposer. Overcome with greed for money, Lakshmipathy agrees to get her daughter married with each one of them. At the time of marriage with the bridegroom who offered the highest bride price, the other two bridegrooms also appear at the same time and question Lakshmipathy. An embarrassed Lakshmipathy is censured by Padma for his greed.

The film is set in 1960s Chennai (Madras then). A police officer and a social worker give speech about ban of cigarettes in All INDIA RADIO. Then 3 men get out from a car . They were thieves and were headed by Eli (Vadivel) a petty thief (who once aspired to become a police officer), who pretends to be a thief who has sold all his robbery items to a jewellery shop owner. The jewellery shop owner had no contact with him and his henchmen dressed as police take all the items pointed out and pretend to arrest Eli and loot the shop. He uses his tricks and loots many other places . One day he enters the house of retired police officer Mr.Rangarajan who had rejected him at the police selection. He loots everything except his photograph. When the current police I.G came there to meet Rangarajan, Eli pretends as though Rangarajan had vacated his house and he is performing rituals and not to disturb him. When the police officer meets Rangarajan on the way he is shocked to find that he had been tricked and Eli had looted the house.

In California, the Republican party governor candidate John Kory (Sean James Sutton) is striving to raise his dismal ratings. Sunny Kurishingal (Vijay Babu), the chief campaign officer of John Kory, is failing with his campaign strategies and runs out of ideas to ensure Kory's victory. Sunny is forced to consult a third person's advise and calls Francis Kunjappan (Mukesh), a PWD minister and his native friend in Kerala, for hiring any good political consultant for devising campaign strategies. Kunjappan, initially reluctant, later recommends his friend and political competitor Jagannathan (Mohanlal), thus also hoping to get rid of him as he is a political threat to his ministerial position. Jagannathan, a young politician and a sports enthusiastic, is illiterate in English but has an inborn talent to solve the gravest of issues in the most prudent manner. Even Francis had consulted him for solving his toughest problems. But Francis thinks that Jaganathan’s unorthodox ideas will fail miserably in the US. Kunjappan meets Jagannathan and offers him the job and a remuneration of ₹30 crores which is sufficient to raise Jagannathan's dream project, a sports academy in Kerala. Jagannathan takes up the assignment and flies to the US, together with his assistants Pottakuzhi Jabbar (Baburaj) and Vayalar Varkey (Aju Varghese).

The film begins in the childhood of Babumon and Babulal Chatterji and their mischievous behavior. Then it progresses in to a grown up version of both. They run into some troubles with Monayi and Varki who are the brother and father of Angel, Babu's love interest, and their right hand Manikandan. When a Bengali worker falls prey to a trap laid by manikandan to kill Babu, it turns out to be a life changer. While taking the body back to Kolkatta, Babu and Angel elope in the ambulance to register their marriage there, Chatergee takes up the driving, Shanthi who is Babulal's love interest is also there and soman to see Bengal. The troubles they land in and how they resolve it to successfully lead a married life forms the rest of the film.

Vishnu (Kunchacko Boban), Pappan (Prathap Pothen) and Louis (Biju Menon) are three ex-convicts who live together at Pappan's abode, trying to pick up from where they had let their lives off before being jailed. After many unsuccessful efforts to find employment, they appeal to Dr. Isaac (Narain), who was a counsellor in the prison. He suggests that they consider some form of self-employment and he will support them. Vishnu converts Pappan's Omni into an ambulance. Pappan runs a playschool and Louis works for a driving school run by a neighbour, Grace (Anjana Menon), a widow. But Dr. Isaac has some other intentions in supporting them and this forms the crux of the story.

Chakka Gopan (Kunchacko Boban) is a tourist guide striving hard to feed a family of four, including his mother (KPAC Lalitha) and three elder brothers - Chakka Mani, Chakka Suku and Chakka Vijayan (Irshad, Joju George and Shiju).
