Vinduja Menon is a former actress of Malayalam cinema. She acted mostly in films during the 1990s. She had acted only in few movies. But her lead roles in Pavithram as Mohanlal's sister is well noted. She took formal classical dance lessons from her mother, and is also a dance teacher.

Biographie

Her father is K.P. Vishwanathan Menon, a Government officer, and her mother is Kalamandalam Vimala Menon, founder of Kerala Natya Academy, a prestigious dance institution. She has a brother, Vinod Kumar. She is married to Rajesh Kumar and has a daughter, Neha. She lives in Thiruvananthapuram with her family and teaches dance at Kerala Natya Academy and occasionally acts in serials. She has also been a judge on the reality show "Dance Party" on Kairali TV.

Nithya (Shobana) is the deputy commissioner of the city who lives with her Valliyachan (Janardhanan) since both her parents were killed in an accident. She was put on to investigate a corruption case done by the Home Minister and his friend a business man called Rajan Phillip (Cochin Haneefa). Unknowingly she was helped in the investigation by a criminal nicknamed Superman (Jayaram). Superman aka Harikrishnan nurtures a vendetta with the home minister and rajan phillip and uses Nithya to trap his enemies. In the whole process Superman uses Judiciary as his weapon, by providing vital evidences to Nithya at times in order to collect evidences Superman himself breaks the law, but as it is for the greater good it is forgiven by Nithya in the end.

The movie begins with an older man's dream; Unni (played by Mohanlal) is roused from his house and told to come in haste to see his father (someone Unni has longed believed to be dead). He is greeted by a crowd of people who begin to make fun of him and Unni wakes up. An astrologer interprets the dream as a harbinger of Easwara Pillai's (Unni's father) death and advices Unni do the last rites for his "dead" father. On a study tour, Bhama (Suparna Anand), a final-year degree student, finds a wooden sculpture on the beach. She finds it beautiful and decides to keep it. The movie shows how a young woman Padmini(Madhavi) who is separated from her husband gets attached to a young orphan girl Gigi(Sonia) when they meet in a hospital during their stay after a bus accident. Gigi has lost her mother in the accident and Padmini decides to take Gigi with her. Gigi is not completely mentally stable and is a special needs child. Padmini brings Gigi to Dr. Padmanabhan (Mammootty) who after initial apprehension accepts Gigi in his institute as a student by the day. Gigi gradually improves and Padmini is peaceful. Padmini's separated husband Sethu (Lalu Alex) is still trying to win her back. The viewers are shown that Padmini separated from her husband because she lost her children due to an episode of reckless motorcycle riding from husband. Padmini decides to go back to Sethu and adopt Gigi as their daughter. However Gigi's special behavior annoys Sethu and Gigi starts to feel insecure about losing her mother again. The movie goes on to show Padmini's emotional turbulence.
