Toofan Aur Bijlee (The Storm and Lightning) is a 1975 Hindi action film produced and directed by Homi Wadia. The music direction was by Chitragupta with lyrics written by Kafil Azar. The film starred Arvind Kumar, Zaheera, Bhagwan, Imtiaz Khan, Randhawa, Mohan Choti and Tun Tun.

The story is about twin sisters Madhuri and Sheela, both played by Zaheera, whose parents and younger brother have been killed by villains. The story follows Madhuri’s revenge against them, aided by a young man called Azad.

Synopsis

Detective Rana is after the bad guys Jugal, Zulfi and Laloo. However they murder him along with his wife and son. Out of his two daughters Madhuri escapes and is saved by a circus man Zorawar. She has promised her mother to avenge her family's death before running away from the villains. The other daughter Sheela, Madhuri’s look-alike, is kidnapped by the crooks and grows up to be a night club dancer, having lost her memory. Madhuri, with the help of her friends and her dog Tiger, finds the night club. She takes Sheela’s place. Azad, a young man whom Madhuri meets and falls in love with helps her fight the gangsters. Sheela also recovers her memory and falls in love with Azad. Finally, there is a chase scene with fights on top of trains and shootout in which Sheela is killed. Azad turns out to be a police detective and Madhuri and he get together.

Ordered to stay away from Delhi's border for several years, two convicts, Kishan and Kanhaiya, decide to hitch a ride through a goods train to Bombay. While on this train, they come to the rescue of an elderly male with a female child, Munni. On his last breath, the elderly male asks them to take care of Munni as millions of rupees are involved. Greed overtakes both and they take the child with them in order to locate her next of kin. Unable to find anyone they advertise in the newspapers, and demand a hefty sum from Veer Singh, who answered the advertisement. What Kishan and Kanhaiya don't know that is that officially Munni is already dead, along with her mother, and brother, purportedly killed by their father, Ranvir Singh, when he suspected his wife's fidelity. Kishan and Kanhaiya find themselves immersed in a web of lies and deceit as they try to fathom what the truth really is. But before they could get to the bottom of this matter, their lives themselves are under threat - by a man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

Govind (Rajesh Khanna) is a young sculptor, while vacationing near Kullu, sees Lajjo (Indrani Mukherjee) and falls in love. Subsequently, they get married secretly in a village temple. He then has to leave for the city to pursue further education. Meanwhile, the girl finds that she is pregnant. On finding this her step mother sells her off for Rs. 500, where she is beaten, some time later she gives birth to a little boy, Buntu. Later Lajjo comes to Mumbai to meet Govind, carrying her one-year-old son. She leaves a letter for him at his doorsteps, and want to leaves the child as well, is unable to go through it, and takes him along. They keep wandering, and feed off whatever comes their way, soon she dies leaving her son alone.

Lusty womanizer, army Captain Kishore, wants a gypsy dancer for himself, and is ready to kill anyone who tries to get in the way. But his plans are foiled when the woman kills herself, leaving behind an injured father, the head of the gypsies, and a younger sister by the name of Jugnu. Jugnu swears to avenge her sister's death, and seeks training from Robert Taylor, and becomes an expert in weapons and fist-fighting. She assumes the guise of a masked male and calls herself "Garam Masala", and inflicts terror in Captain Kishore's life and army. Garam Masala's attempts to kill Kishore are foiled when she is captured. She is rescued by a mysterious masked male, who disappears into the night. Kishore is clearly baffled by the appearance of two masked men, and asks his men to search high and low for them. In the meantime, Kishore returns to his kingdom, which has its King missing for several years, and the prince - a puppet in the hands of Kishore and his men.
