Il lui demande de se faire passer pour celui-ci afin de capturer le reste du gang ; en échange, il lui promet que les enfants dont il a la charge auront une bonne éducation.
Père de famille et marié, Luca Di Angelo mène une vie tranquille et confortable de trafiquant de cigarettes à Naples, lorsque son frère Micky est assassiné devant ses yeux. Les autres contrebandiers sont décimés à leur tour. Il s'avère bientôt qu'un nouveau venu, le '"Marseillais", a l'intention de vendre de la drogue en ville. Implacable et sadique, il est prêt à tout pour y parvenir même à éliminer ses concurrents. L'affrontement est inévitable.
Agent Netra (chiranjeevi), a Casanova kinda guy works for a Detective agency run by Satyanarayana. He is given a special assignment to track down the underworld activities and their drug dealings of a bigwig in the society, but has another shade as don of the Illegal drug trade. He uses his elder daughter Rekha to experiment all his drugs. Netra plans to trap his younger daughter Radha and through her tries to reach the villains.
Marian is an up-and-coming fashion designer in New York. One morning, while on her way to work, Marian is mugged. She calls the police and they manage to catch the thief. While waiting at the police station, a handsome Italian attorney named Edward Moran offers to take her home in his limousine. They eventually fall in love and get married. During the wedding celebration, Edward offers to set up in business Marian and her friend Silvia. On their honeymoon, Edward gets gets called away in on business. While he is away, Marian becomes suspicious after several incidents, leading to being dragged off to the family compound for protection. Marian's sister-in-law Gina tells her that the family is part of the Italian Mafia. This is followed by an improbable gun battle between mafia factions, including men in a helicopter shooting up the family compound, killing Gina's husband. Later, Sylvia tells Marian and Edward of her discovery that the business she has with Marian is a front for importing cocaine. As Marian tells Silvia that she has decided leave Edward, Silvia is pushed in front of a car (murdered by the family). Marian goes to the police offering to testify against the family. Despite police protection, the family kidnaps her, and takes her back to Edward. After some soapy dialogue between them, Edward shoots and kills Marian for "breaking the rules".
After having witnessed his dad being killed by ratan singh, the local police, and being orphaned and homeless, Shakti Velu develops a hatred and distrust of the police in India. He is befriended by another homeless boy named Shanker, who asks him to accompany him to Bombay's slums, where they live with a kind-hearted Muslim named Karim Baba, and his daughter, Shama. This is where Shakti and Shankar spend their childhood. When they mature, they take to petty crime. Here too, Shakti witnesses police brutality and atrocities, especially at the hands of sadistic, alcoholic, and womanizing Police Inspector Ratan Singh. When Karim Baba is arrested, jailed, and found hanging by his neck in police custody, Shakti hunts down Ratan Singh, and kills him in broad daylight in front of the several hundred people. An investigation is launched, but no one comes forward as a witness. Thus Shakti gets his reputation as a Don with a good heart i.e., Dayavan. Shakti marries local prostitute, Neelu, and has two children, Suraj and Sarita. He becomes even more powerful and influential all over Bombay, and his working partners are powerful criminal dons who have ruled over Bombay for eons. Shakti eventually replaces these dons, and becomes Bombay's only Don. This creates enemies for him and his family, but he believes since he has not really done any harm to anyone, he and his family will be safe. It is this belief that will take a heavy toll on his life and that of his family, when the truth dawns that he, himself, is responsible for being kind to a man, who will ultimately bring forward ruin to the Velu family.

Carmine Bonavia, fils d'immigrés siciliens, est candidat à la mairie de New York. Comme promesse électorale, pour en finir une fois pour toutes avec le problème de la drogue, il fait une proposition sensationnelle : sa légalisation pour pouvoir traiter la drogue comme un problème de santé publique. Pour mieux connaître la question, il décide de passer sa lune de miel à Palerme avec sa jeune épouse Carrie : logé dans un hôtel luxueux, il visite les plus beaux monuments de la ville, mais il se rend compte aussi de leur dégradation. Et voici que la mafia, très gênée par sa campagne, qui la priverait de son commerce le plus lucratif, essaie à tout prix de le coincer et l'implique finalement dans le meurtre (soigneusement mis en scène) d'un jeune vendeur de jasmin à la sauvette, avec lequel Carmine peu de temps auparavant s'était disputé. L'affaire risque de compromettre les projets électoraux de Carmine, puisqu'il est accusé d'homicide avec préméditation.
